Alan Creedy and Danny Jefferson, two funeral service innovators who host a popular podcast called “Two Guys and a Question,” interviewed a death-care marketing veteran to share a myriad of insights in their latest episode.

Their special guest was Joe Weigel, owner of Weigel Strategic Marketing, who provides an array of marketing services to funeral homes and death-care suppliers.

The three men highlighted a number of marketing vehicles that funeral homes can use to deliver their message to the community, including social media, print media, television and more.

One of the main topics they addressed was how funeral homes must balance digital marketing with conventional marketing to achieve their objectives.

“Facebook provides you with the frequency you need to deliver a message to your target audience, but where it falls short is you need something to reach a much larger audience – and that is where traditional media can come into play in a big way,” Weigel said.

Creedy observed that social media is often the most effective with people you already have a relationship with – and that it has some shortcomings when it comes to growing market share.
