Broylman Memorial Group Gets into the Funeral Business, Buying Arkansas Firm

Broylman Memorial Group recently announced that it has acquired the assets of Russellville Family Funeral Home in Russellville, Arkansas.

According to the funeral home’s website, Pam Smith owned the firm; she has 18 years of experience helping families in the River Valley.

The website notes, “It was apparent the River Valley area needed another choice for funeral and cremation services. Families want options, someone to listen to and grant their wishes and needs, as well as have a professional service, for a more affordable price. This is why Pam opened Russellville Family Funeral. It is her passion and desire to serve families.”

The funeral home’s staff has over 70 years of combined funeral experience.

While Broylman Memorial Group, which is operated by Micah Brown, once had a funeral home location, it had divested it. This purchase marks its re-entry into the funeral home business.

In a recent video interview with CemeteryVision.com, Brown looked back at how he entered the cemetery business 11 years ago through door-to-door sales before starting Broylman Memorial Group, originally called Legacy Memorial Group. Under his determined leadership, the company has grown from two small cemeteries in Virginia to 18 cemeteries across multiple states, with recent acquisitions including three properties from Heritage Family Group in Tennessee.

On its LinkedIn page, Broylman Memorial Group noted of its acquisition, “The firm is a pillar of the community located in the heart of Russellville AR. Russellville Family Funeral was started by Pam Smith and her daughter Kelsey. Together they have grown the firm to be the leader in funeral service in Russellville. Russellville Family Funeral is a full-service funeral home serving over 300 families per year. It is located within 2 miles of our cemetery in Russellville, Resthaven Memorial Park.”

This acquisition is the beginning of an additional strategy to add funeral home locations near cemeteries that are part of our current and growing footprint, according to the company.
