Directors Investment Group — the parent company of Funeral Directors Life — was recently recognized as one of this year’s Best Workplaces in Texas by Fortune magazine and Great Place To Work. This is DIG’s seventh time being named to this prestigious list, coming in at #19 in the small and medium business category. To be selected, DIG had to exceed rigorous benchmarks and demonstrate its dedication to being one of the best companies headquartered in Texas through employee feedback.

To determine the Fortune Best Workplaces in Texas List, Great Place To Work surveyed more than 100,000 employees at eligible companies. Via the Trust Index Survey, employees shared honest feedback about their experience by responding to 60 statements about the employee experience and answering two open-ended questions.

“We are honored to be recognized once again as one of the best workplaces in Texas,” said Kris Seale, DIG president and CEO“For many years, we’ve made it a priority as a company to be known as a great place to work. Throughout that time, we’ve implemented various programs that our employees value, such as an onsite fitness center, wellness clinic, courtyard for relaxation, leadership development programs, and much more. However, the real credit for this achievement goes to the amazing employees who make DIG such a fantastic place to work.”

The Best Workplaces in Texas list is highly competitive. Selected companies have a proven ability to provide positive experiences for their employees across the board, regardless of their job position, work status, or other personal characteristics.

To be eligible for the list, companies must be Great Place To Work Certified, have at least 10 U.S. employees, and be headquartered in Texas.

“Congratulations to the Best Workplaces in Texas,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work. “These are companies that understand how putting people first drives performance, productivity and innovation — essentials in this economy.”

Fortune congratulates the Best Workplaces in Texas,” said Fortune Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell. “They are leading their industries in employee satisfaction, a critical metric for success in a period of economic uncertainty.”
