Eternal Fan President and Founder Matt Linn and Chief Marketing Officer Brad Zimmerman have launched “The Final Season,” a weekly podcast about the stories unfolding in sports and the people whose impact lasts beyond their playing careers.

Each episode will cover current sports events and reflect on professional athletes who have recently passed, including the legacies they leave with fans, teammates and families. Linn and Zimmerman will also share a behind-the-scenes look at building Eternal Fan, from new ideas to the business decisions and challenges they encounter along the way.

“The show gives us room to talk about sports the way fans actually do,” Linn said. “We can react to what happened this week, remember someone who shaped the game and let people in on what we’re learning as we build Eternal Fan.”

The hosts also hope the unscripted conversations make it easier to discuss a subject many families put off: the end of life. They plan to approach it with curiosity, warmth and humor when the moment calls for it.

“Sports give us a natural way to talk about what people leave behind,” Zimmerman said. “If a conversation about an athlete can help someone feel more comfortable asking a loved one about their own stories and wishes, that’s time well spent. We want the show to be thoughtful, but we also want it to be fun.”

“The Final Season” is available on major podcast platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
