Flanner Buchanan is proud to announce that Andrew P. Buchanan has joined Buchanan Group as chief operating officer, marking the fifth generation of Buchanan family leadership within the organization. Buchanan will work closely with executive leadership and teams across all divisions to continue advancing the company’s tradition of operational excellence and compassionate service.
Buchanan joins Flanner Buchanan from the financial services firm Robert W. Baird, where he served as a senior analyst on the Statements and Investor Reporting team. During his tenure, he earned the 2024 Tops of Ops Award in recognition of his leadership in process improvement, technology integration, and fostering collaboration across departments. His expertise in data-driven decision-making, efficiency, and organizational development will play a key role in strengthening Flanner Buchanan’s operations and long-term strategy.

In his first year as COO, Buchanan will focus on gaining a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s operations, culture, and people—spending time across departments and locations to deepen his connection to the teams that define Flanner Buchanan’s enduring success.

Outside of work, Andrew P. Buchanan and his wife, Cara L. Buchanan, were recently married in September. Cara, a certified financial planner, will be joining Bedel Financial Consulting in Indianapolis. In a serendipitous twist, both Andrew and Cara will begin their new professional chapters on the same day.
