Homesteaders Life Company, a national leader in preneed funeral funding has announced Momentum: A Women’s Leadership Accelerator, a one-day executive-level intensive developed in collaboration with Kates-Boylston Publications.
The first-of-its-kind program is designed to equip women leaders in the funeral profession with the business skills and strategic insight needed to
advance their careers and strengthen their organizations.
The event will take place Sept. 24, at the Inn at Celebration in Celebration, Florida, with a welcome reception the evening of September 23.
“Women in funeral service are often coached to be relational leaders, but they aren’t always presented with the same opportunities as their male peers to build financial and strategic expertise,” said Danielle Burmeister, Homesteaders vice president of marketing communications. “We designed Momentum to close that gap, equipping high-potential leaders with the business acumen and confidence to step into their next level of
leadership.”
Momentum begins with a welcome reception and wine tasting on Sept. 23, providing an opportunity for attendees to build meaningful connections in a relaxed setting. The full-day program on Sept. 24 will feature a dynamic, action-oriented agenda led by an accomplished group of industry leaders.
Homesteaders Chief Growth Officer Courtney Gould Miller will lead a workshop on measuring success and assessing the ROI of today’s investments for the future of a funeral business. “At Homesteaders, we are focused on shaping the future of the profession — and that requires investing in leaders who can drive both performance and purpose,” she explained. “Creating the first women’s leadership accelerator for funeral service reflects our commitment to supporting women who are ready to lead organizations forward and make a lasting impact.”
Other presenters include Homesteaders Chief Strategy Officer Laurie Covington, President of Worsham College of Mortuary Science Leili McMurrough, Envision Onboarding Specialist Wanda Sizemore and Quinn Haisley-Wheeler, Director of Funeral Service Operations at Haisley Funeral and Cremation Service and Selected Independent Funeral Homes’ 2024 NextGen Professional of the Year.
Registration for Momentum is now open, with early bird pricing available for $425. The registration fee includes access to all programming, the welcome reception and meals during the event. Attendees will also receive a complimentary one-year subscription to American Funeral Director and American Cemetery & Cremation.
A discounted room block is available at the Inn at Celebration for $159 per night. Continuing education credit applications have been submitted and are pending approval. Seating is limited, and early registration is encouraged. For more information and to register, visit events.kates-boylston.com.
