Lacy Robinson and Greg Grabowski recently sat down with the founder of FuneralVision.com to share insights from their new book, Engaging the Heart of Hospice: Making Funeral and Memorial Services an Extension of Hospice Care.

Robinson, an instructor with the Worship College of Mortuary Science and a business development consultant, teamed up with Grabowksi, a partner with Hospice Advisors who has been involved in the hospice movement since 1999, to share some compelling statistics from their book as well as insights on how funeral professionals can support the efforts of hospice care organizations and become an integral resource in a continuum of care.

In their book, Robinson and Grabowski explore the compassionate world of hospice care as well as the transformative power of end-of-life hospice providers through heartfelt stories, invaluable insights and expert perspectives. They also paint a vivid picture of how hospice care can provide solace, dignity and compassion during life’s most vulnerable moments and illustrate the deep connections fostered between patients and caregivers.

The contemporary perspective they share in the book provides a blueprint for funeral service professionals to engage the heart of hospice.

The book includes a foreword by Edward J. Defort, the longtime editor-in-chief of the National Funeral Directors Association, who has made it his life’s work to help funeral professionals succeed. “May this book serve as a guide to offer understanding and inspiration to those who serve the ones who seek comfort in the face of life’s most profound inevitability,” Defort writes in the foreword.
