The Monument Builders of North America proudly has released the most recent episode of Monument Matters, a new bi‑weekly podcast dedicated to exploring current themes in memorialization. Each 30-minute episode delves into pressing topics—from monumental design innovations to shifts in the cremation market—featuring candid conversations with industry leaders, skilled memorialists, and association experts.

“Monument Matters builds upon the rich content of MBNews, MBNA’s monthly membership magazine, giving listeners genuine insight into the people, craft, and causes that shape memorialization today,” said MBNA President Nathan Lange, Northland Monument, Inc. “Whether it’s sharing challenges, celebrating craftsmanship, or envisioning the future, this podcast strengthens connections across our community.”

Hosted by MBNA Marketing Committee member Mike Johns Jr., Johns-Carabelli Co. Semerano Monuments & Flowers, the series launched early in 2025 with episodes covering timeless craftsmanship, modern cremation trends, and industry perspectives. Johns adds, “We’re thrilled this podcast offers memorial providers tangible takeaways—from tool tips and design insight to business strategies and community outreach stories. It’s a fresh way for professionals to stay informed, connected, and inspired.”

The July 1 episode features Scott McLaughlin, executive director of the Vermont Granite Museum, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Discover how this community-founded museum is preserving Vermont’s granite heritage, reviving local pride, and inspiring a new generation of artists and artisans. Learn about the challenges facing the museum, its educational outreach programs, and opportunities for monument builders to support and collaborate.

Episodes are available now on major platforms including Apple, Spotify and YouTube. Episodes release every other Tuesday in both audio and video versions. Learn more about MBNA and the podcast at https://monumentbuilders.org/monument-matters-podcast/.
