National Guardian Life Insurance Co. has welcomed Cara Capretta to its executive leadership team. She will serve as senior vice president, chief human resources officer, according to a news release.

Capretta is an experienced strategic business leader with more than 30 years in human resources.

She will lead the human resources, corporate communications and facilities teams, focused on building on NGL’s culture, as well as standardizing and modernizing processes that will enhance the development of NGL’s team members and the organization’s growth.

“We are excited for Cara to join the team. She has extensive knowledge of developing and executing company-wide talent management solutions and a proven commitment to employee engagement which aligns with our efforts to support our teams and culture,” said Joe Celentano, president and CEO at NGL.

Capretta has held senior leadership roles at several global organizations, including Nationwide Insurance, Korn Ferry and Oracle. Most recently, she was vice president, HR Centers of Excellence, at OhioHealth where she was responsible for leading, growing and innovating talent acquisition, culture, total rewards, and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Capretta attended The Ohio State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. She is an active member in the community and enjoys volunteering at and supporting events that raise money for cancer research at The Ohio State University.
