Funeral professionals looking to sharpen their business skills, gain practical strategies for growth and earn valuable continuing education credits now have another reason to attend “Mastermind: Elevating Your Funeral Service Business to New Heights.“
The Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors has approved the event for 6 hours of continuing education, joining Maryland and New Jersey as the latest states to approve the conference for CEUs.
Additional approvals from other states are pending — and the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice has also approved the event for 6 hours of continuing education, which covers numerous states.
Hosted by FuneralVision.com, Mastermind is designed to help funeral home owners, managers, funeral directors, cemetery professionals and other deathcare leaders navigate a rapidly changing profession while building stronger, more profitable businesses.
“Mastermind isn’t about theory,” said Thomas Parmalee, founder of FuneralVision.com and CemeteryVision.com. “It’s about bringing together some of the brightest minds in funeral service, technology, customer experience and marketing to provide practical ideas attendees can implement immediately.”
The conference features an impressive lineup of speakers and topics focused on the challenges and opportunities facing funeral service today.
Attendees will hear from:
- Chris Cruger, CEO of Foresight, who will unveil new consumer research and discuss how funeral consumer expectations continue to evolve.
- Emilli Milstead, manager of continuous improvement at Carriage Services, who will deliver a presentation titled “1% Better Every Day: Small Improvements that Create Lasting Change.”
- Terri Bordenkircher of Homesteaders Life Company, who will present findings from the company’s latest Preneed Motivators research.
- Rev. Christopher Monturo, a priest who will offer insights on grief, ritual and strengthening relationships between clergy and funeral professionals.
- Welton Hong, founder and CEO of Ring Ring Marketing, who will reveal the marketing strategies funeral homes need to succeed in 2027 and beyond.
- Technology innovators Effie Anolik, Rehan Choudhry and Nicholas Allan, who will discuss how emerging technologies are reshaping deathcare.
The event also includes networking opportunities, sponsor exhibits, breakfast, lunch and a special opening-night cocktail reception.
As an added bonus, the first 20 attendees who register and attend the opening reception will receive complimentary tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sept. 23.
The conference will take place at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, located in the heart of the city’s sports complex and within walking distance of Citizens Bank Park.
Registration is currently available at the early-bird rate of $199 through July 31. After that date, registration increases to $349.
Funeral professionals interested in attending are encouraged to register early, both to secure the discounted rate and to reserve their place at what is expected to be one of the profession’s premier educational and networking events of 2026.
