Selected Independent Funeral Homes, the world’s oldest association of independently owned funeral homes, has announced the election of new board officers. Eric Trimble of Trimble Funeral Home & Crematory in Moline, Illinois will serve as president; and John Kepner of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina will serve as board chair.
Trimble has previously served Selected as board chair. He expressed his delight at the opportunity to fill the role of board president. “It’s a high honor to serve an organization of the caliber of Selected. We have a real unique organization, and we have an opportunity to serve our members to become the best of the best. And it’s our challenge to continue that in the future. With the support of our members and a very great board, it’s going to be a good year,” he said.
Kepner is proud that Selected membership has been a long-standing legacy of his family. “It feels good (to be selected as board chair),” he said. “It’s been in my family for over 100 years. And it’s meant a lot to us. We’ve taken a lot from Selected as far as business practices and major friendships in my life, so it feels good.”
Selected’s board of directors elected the new officers at its quarterly board meeting. The officers will be officially installed during the Annual Meeting, Oct. 10-13 at the JW Marriott Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
