There is no way you can educate them on what they need until you know what they want.
That’s one of the nuggets of wisdom that Danny Jefferson, the co-host with Alan Creedy of the popular podcast “Two Guys and a Question” shared on their latest episode.
The two men delved into recent research published by The Foresight Companies and Fortitude Research and Marketing that indicates a surprising number of families do not feel as though they received enough information about their funeral and memorial options at the time of a loved one’s death.
Both Creedy and Jefferson emphasized that to properly convey options, funeral professionals need to take more time and get better at asking questions. “Establish a base of knowledge, so you can make suggestions,” Creedy said.
Creedy further advised, “Take what they tell you and craft it into an option that you feel might be best for their needs. They are welcome to respond, but you have given them a frame of reference.
