The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards recently announced that eligible mortuary college students can apply for the Harvey Leavitt III NBE Scholarships for spring 2024.

Selected recipients will receive one complimentary National Board Exam registration (Arts & Sciences – a $570 value), which must be used within one year from the notification of the award.

There are five scholarships available and applications will be accepted from Jan. 16 to Feb. 16.

Scholarships are open to first-time candidates who will be eligible to take the NBE Arts & Sciences exams prior to March 1, 2025 (limit one entry per candidate).

The selected recipients will receive one complimentary NBE registration (Arts & Sciences – a $570 value), which must be used within one year from the notification of the award.

The Harvey Leavitt III scholarship is open to first-time NBE candidates that will be eligible to take the NBE Arts and Sciences exams prior to March 1, 2025, (limit one entry per candidate). Candidates must be a graduate of, or graduating in 2024 from, an ABFSE-accredited mortuary science program.

Candidates completing a certificate program with an affiliate program are NOT eligible to apply.

The scholarship entry form must be submitted directly by the candidate by 12 p.m. CDT on Feb. 16, 2024.

Please note that no refunds will be given if the recipient has already paid and/or sat for the exam prior to receiving the scholarship. The next scholarship opportunity will be available in the fall of 2024.
